FAQS

QWhat is Spherical Plain Bearings - Rod Ends?

AAlso known as ball joint rod ends, spherical rod ends house spherical plain bearings. The rod end design supports pivoting within the housing to accommodate misalignment. Rod ends feature an eye-shaped head on a shank. Rod ends consist of an eye-shaped head with integral shank that forms a housing for a spherical plain bearing. As a rule, rod ends are available with left- or right-hand female (internal) or male (external) threads. SKF supplies rod ends with a threaded shank with a right-hand thread as standard.

QWhat is Sleeve Bearings?

AA sleeve bearing is a type of plain bearing that can handle high loads and velocities. Sleeve bearings help make engines run smoothly and quietly. These durable and long lasting bearings can also perform well in other high-load, high-velocity applications, such as machines and turbines. Plain-sleeve bearings, also called plane, journal, or bushing bearings, resemble a hollow cylinder and are designed to fit around a shaft. Solid type plain-sleeve bearings handle radial loads effectively.

QWhat is Tapered roller bearings?

AThis bearing construction accommodates combined loads and provides low friction during operation. Tapered Roller Bearings?Timken?tapered bearings are uniquely designed to manage both thrust and radial loads on rotating shafts and in housings. We manufacture nearly 26,000?bearing? combinations – in single, double and four-row configurations.

QWhat is trust roller bearings?

ASpherical-Roller Bearings Two rows of rollers give these bearings load capacities over five times higher than comparably sized tapered-roller bearings. A built-in thrust ball bearing reduces wear from adjacent shaft components, while the needle-roller bearing supports radial loads. Spherical-Roller Bearings Two rows of rollers give these bearings load capacities over five times higher than comparably sized tapered-roller bearings.
